Venir Creatur at Burning Man

Veni Creatur is a video art piece created for Astral Projekt’s IAMAI installation at Black Rock City’s Burning Man 2018. The 360 degree projection surrounded the effigy of The Man, and showed from August 26th to September 1st, 2018. The theme centered on mankind’s relationship with artificial intelligence, complementing Burning Man’s theme for the year: I, Robot.

Veni Creatur is a meditation on AI as created and creator, drawing from Catholic artworks Veni Creator Spiritus and The Creation of Adam to question the idea of an ethical co-existence between human and machine. As AI learns and evolves to become creator, who gives the spark of life, and who receives it?
